Colin Baines

Colin has over 20 years experience working in ESG and sustainable investing, corporate responsibility, and advocacy campaigns.

He currently works for a large partnership of local government pension funds, leading investor engagement with companies on ESG and net zero transition. Previously, Colin has worked for Friends Provident Foundation, and the Co-operative Bank and Group.

He has been involved in a wide range of climate engagement and advocacy, securing just transition strategies from energy utilities, phase out of coal financing from banks, and a government community energy strategy, to name a few.

Colin has given evidence to House of Commons Select Committee, and the European Parliament and Council, and has sat on several governments, industry, and university advisory groups, including the London School of Economics Grantham Research Institute, and University of Manchester Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.
