Stand up for solar power

After weeks of watering down our net-zero ambition, this government now looks set to put new restrictions on solar power in the UK.

Solar panels currently cover just 0.1% of land in the UK. Even if we put all the solar we need on farms, it would still cover just 0.5% of arable land. That’s less than golf courses.

We need more solar power, not less!

With nine in ten of us supporting solar, and with the sun providing one of the cheapest forms of energy, we can’t believe the government is once again considering putting restrictions on this cheap clean energy source - and during a cost of living crisis!

We still have time to stop this.

Two ways you can help protect the future of solar power in the UK:

  1. Ask your MP to support solar

As your representative in parliament, your MP needs to know that you want more solar power, not less! We’ve made it quick and easy for you to email your local MP asking them to stand up for solar. Hit the button below to open our write-to-MP webtool. Then, simply type your name and postcode in and you'll see a tailored email for your local representative which you can send directly through the system.

2. Set up a donation today

Possible has a strong history of campaigning for climate policies and holding the government to account, but to be able to keep doing this in an increasingly hostile environment, we need supporters like you to to help us.

We know that the majority of voters support action on climate change so we work with people from across the political spectrum to make sure the government knows this and acts accordingly. Through supporting our work, you will help to tell the government that climate is a priority now and for many years to come, and will create opportunities for action across the UK.
