Every penny donated 2nd-9th December will be DOUBLED 〰️ Deal starting soon 〰️

We’re so excited that once again, we’ve been invited to take part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge - and we want it to be our biggest fundraiser yet.

Every penny that we raise in public donations between midday Tuesday 2nd and midday Tuesday 9th December will be doubled by generous funders!* If someone donates £5, we’ll get £10, if they give £25, we’ll get £50, if they give £100, we’ll get £200 - you get the idea.

This is a huge opportunity that will set us up for a year of climate wins.

Donate now to double your impact

This time last year, we raised a record breaking £24,000 in just seven days. Thanks to everyone who chipped in, we’ve had a game-changing 2025.

We want to make an even bigger difference this year.

With the political consensus around climate crumbling, it’s never been more important to show public support for climate action. We’ll be rolling out Fixing Factories in more locations, support communities across the UK switch to clean, affordable energy, continue to campaign to tax private jets and invest in climate-friendly transport for all, and hold the government to account on their climate commitments.

With your help, we can use this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, to set us up for bigger wins throughout 2026.

Three ways to make the most of the Big Give.

  1. Donate

Make sure to donate between midday 2nd December and midday 9th December to have your gift doubled.

2. Organise a fundraiser

The more you can donate between 2nd and 9th December, the more the match funders will donate too. So why not increase your donation by asking your friends, family and colleagues to chip in. Bake sales, clothes swaps, quizzes and film nights are just some of the ways you can bring people together and inspire positive action on the climate crisis while raising some extra money during the Big Give week. If you want to have a chat through any of these suggestions, or other ideas you might have, email Han at hannah.bland@wearepossible.org - she’ll be happy to help!

3. Spread the word

We’ve made template text and social media links that will make it easy for you, as someone who supports our work, to help us make the most of the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge this year. If you can, please do take a minute to personalise the message by mentioning what you love most about Possible. This will make your message more personal and persuasive to your friends and family. You can see a few examples below.

  • “Quick thing! Some funders have agreed to match any donations from the public this week for Possible (the climate action charity I support). This is a huge opportunity to raise money for such an important cause (all donations are essentially doubled!), so I hoped you might be interested. I've just donated. Will you do the same? https://donate.biggive.org/campaign/a05WS000005wWB7YAM

  • “Hi XXX,

I’m getting in touch because there’s an opportunity to raise funds for climate action that I hoped you’d be interested in. One of the charities I support is Possible - they help people take positive practical action on the climate crisis, and come up with innovative solutions to speed up the transition to a zero carbon UK (my favourite thing about Possible is …. [see suggestions below]).

Anyway, as part of their ‘Christmas Challenge’ , generous funders at The Big Give have agreed to match any donations Possible receive between now and the 10th December!

So if someone donates a fiver Possible gets a tenner, if someone donates fifty quid, they get a hundred, and if someone donates one hundred, that’s £200 in the pot for Possible’s work in 2026.

I thought you’d want to know about this - we’re all trying to do our bit for the climate, and if you’re in a position to donate to climate action this year, this is the time to do it, as you’ll have double the impact.

Here’s the link with more information: www.wearepossible.org/biggive.

Also, if you are not already on Possible’s mailing list, I’d suggest you sign up to receive their emails. They do loads of great projects that I think you’ll be interested in. Here’s the link: www.wearepossible.org/join (don’t worry, they don’t spam you with loads of emails - it’s usually about one a week, and you can unsubscribe any time if it’s too much).

    Thanks,

  • Things you might like about Possible that you could mention:

“One of the things I love most about Possible is …

    • “... the work they’ve been doing to help home care workers access electric cars at a cheaper price.”

    • “… their Fixing Factory (where people can visit a highstreet shop to get their appliances repaired for free, and/or get trained up in fixing).  I really hope they can roll these out across the country! “

    • “… their onshore wind campaign (the government had been blocking new onshore wind projects for years, preventing people of the UK from benefiting from cheap clean energy! Possible never gave up on their campaign against these blocks for years, and got thousands of people to lobby their MPs on the issue - and it’s worked!“

    • “…Climate Perks - the scheme that gets employers their team additional days off work for flight-free holidays. …  “

    • “… the work they’ve been doing to get urban communities across the UK excited about car free visions and climate-friendly futures for their streets. “

    • “… how they find innovative ways to get more people talking about climate solutions (from their board game, to climate-science inspired nail art, to full blown climate-themed cabarets). It can be difficult to broach the subject of climate with friends/family, but their projects make it easier - and even enjoyable! “

    • “… how they speak up against misinformation! There’s so much talk about climate, and loads of businesses and industries claim to be “green” but it’s difficult for normal people to know what’s true. Possible are quick to react when airlines, the government, or companies are misleading customers, and are proactive in putting the facts out so that we can all make informed decisions. “

    • “… their commitment to anti-oppression in their projects and within their internal processes! They understand that if we’re going to build a cleaner, fairer, UK, we need to involve everyone - and they’re doing the work to break down barriers to the climate movement and engage those communities who are underrepresented.”

Possible is that rare beast which applies a true campaigning spirit to achieving positive climate outcomes. They consistently punch above their weight and are creative, inspiring and innovative
— Baroness Bryony Worthington, Climate Change Act 2008 lead author

Together, we can create a cleaner, fairer UK.

If you donate during the Big Give’s Green Match Fund, your money will be doubled and so will your climate impact.

*Thanks to the Big Give and the Reed Foundation, we’ve been given the chance to receive a maximum of £12,000 in match funds. In order to receive this £12,000 we need to raise the same amount by public donations during the Big Give week (2nd-9th December). Any donations made above that threshold will not be matched - but they will still go straight to us, and will help bring us closer to a zero carbon Britain. You can find out more about the Big Give and how it works at https://donate.biggive.org/.
