Say 'NO' to Farnborough Airport's expansion plans
Farnborough Airport (the UK’s largest private jet airport) wants to increase its weekend flight numbers by 50%!
We don’t need more flights - especially not more private jet flights - and especially not at the weekends, when local people are trying to enjoy a hard-earned break with some peace and quiet. The proposed increase in flights is a huge threat to our climate, and to the local community.
Last time they tried this we stopped them in their tracks. In 2023 Farnborough Airport applied to expand, and 5,000 people objected as part of the public consultation!
Now they’re trying again. We’ve just caught wind that they’ve submitted a fresh new application for the same plans.
We only have until 30th December to share our opposition!

Proposing an increase to the number of flights during a climate crisis is hugely irresponsible. This is particularly the case for private jet flights, which are a grotesquely wasteful mis-use of our scarce remaining emissions budget. If this harmful development is allowed to go ahead, it will make it more difficult for the UK to reach its vital emissions targets. This development will also harm the local area, increasing noise and air pollution that harms the health and wellbeing of local residents. I urge the council to reject this application.
