Linking the public and farmers to improve hedgerows & lock up carbon
Hedgerows are a key component of the UK’s landscapes, offering practical utility to farmers, habitat for threatened wildlife and the ability to lock up 500,000 tonnes of carbon. This potential for hedgerows to benefit farmers, wildlife and the climate is not yet being fully realised. Together, we can change this.
In partnership with the Nature Friendly Farming Fund, we’re working with Farmers across the UK to plant hedgerows on their land. From January to March 2021, we’ll be running a series of events with volunteers helping to plant hedges and take practical climate action together.
To make sure you’re the first to hear about our tree-planting events, make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter. Everyone is welcome, and we’d particularly like to recruit volunteers who don’t normally get to access the countryside - no experience necessary!
